Julius Adam is a German artist, he was born in an artist family in 1852.  He is most famous for his cats paintings, especially kittens, even though Julius also created quite a number of dog paintings. His father, Julius Adam Snr was previously a photographer and Julius studied art under his father as being a retoucher of photo taking pictures. During the period of 1866 to 1872, Julius labored in in Rio de Janeiro before coming back again to Germany where he started to research together with the Wilhelm Diez and also Michael Echter. He learned oil painting with Diez for around 6 years and then focus on animal paintings. Among his many relationships, Albrecht Adam was a great artist in horse portraits.  Because of this, Julius Adam made out a market for himself in cats paintings which was quite popular in the nineteenth century, as a result, he made a suitable lifestyle.
