Willem van Aelst was a Dutch still life artist who was born in Delft. His uncle Evert van Adlst was a famous still life painter too, Willem started his art learning as a student of his uncle. Willem van Aelst lived in France during 1645 to 1649 and then he went to Florence to be a court painting of grand duke of Tuscany. He also became a member of the Bentvueghels while he travelled to Rome. In 1656 he went back to the Holland to live there for rest of his life. He is definitely one of the most famous still life artists in the art world.
