Jacques-Laurent Agasse (Apr 24, 1767 - Dec 27, 1849) was a famous artist from Switzerland who specialized in the subject of landscape as well as animal.
Agasse was born in Geneva where he learned his art in local public school. He visited Paris at the age of twenty to study in Veterinary school. During the period in Veterinary, he became good at horses paintings. He then went back to his country Switzerland. Agasse was regarded one of the most famed animal artist in the 18th and 19th century. He was incredibly focused on art, and astonishingly educated in anatomy. The best known of his animal art was English racehorses.
Even though the artist was famous, he actually didn't get rich, it is said that he was lived and died poor.
