William Aikman was a Scottish artist who mainly specialized in portrait paintings. His art style carries emulating nature in her own attractive distinctiveness: he uses soft lights, mellow shades as well as mild colouring. Not like Rubens or Reynolds. His mind, calm and ease, thrilled more like Thomson. Many of his portrait artworks are owned by many well-known people.
