Theodor Aman was a Romanian artist who mainly famous for his history theme paintings. He was also an engraver and art professor.

Theodor was born in Câmpulung and learn art under Constantin Lecca, Carol Wallenstein de Vella. He also went to Paris where he studied with Michel Martin Drolling and had his first exhibition at the Salon. He also visisted Istanbul to sell his artworks. He as regarded one of the most important Romanian artists of the XIXth century
