Francesco Fontebasso was an Italian painter of the late Baroque and Rococo periods. He was apprenticed to Sebastiano Ricci and was influenced heavily by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. Many of Fontebasso's works depict the beauty of nature, and he was best known for his paintings of the Medici family. In addition to his painting of the Medici, Fontebasso also painted famous Italian landscapes.

In addition to his paintings, Fontebasso also created prints and drawings. His work is still popular today, and his works can be found in private collections around the world. In fact, Fontebasso's work is widely collected today. The renowned Florence Academy of Art has a permanent exhibition of his works.
