Luncheon of the Boating Party is a painting by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. It was included in the Seventh Impressionist Exhibition in 1882. Three critics cited it as their favorite painting. This piece captures the essence of French life in the summer. It depicts an afternoon party in a Riverside setting.

Aline Charigot, future wife of Renoir and muse to the artist, attended the luncheon in 1890. They later married. After the marriage, they had a child, and together, they painted a number of paintings. Their children included a portrait of a boating couple and another of a woman with a dog. The couple also had a restaurant. Alphonse Fournaise opened it in 1860. He also had four children with Alphonsine.

After the artist's death in 1923, Luncheon of the Boating Party became a famous piece of art. It became a popular attraction for pilgrims from all over the world. It is a classic representation of Impressionism at its finest. It is also a great reminder of the time when the French Revolution began. The artist's style remained unchanged for over 50 years. The Luncheon of the Boating Party was first exhibited in 1881 and was a big hit with the public and critics.

In addition to being an excellent example of Impressionist art, Luncheon of the Boating Party is also considered to be one of the most beautiful paintings ever produced.
