The National Gallery Washington D.C. is the national art museum of the United States. Located on the National Mall between 3rd and 9th Streets, the gallery is one of the largest museums of art in the world. The building is on Constitution Avenue NW. It is the ideal place to see the works of the most prominent artists. Its permanent collection includes over five million pieces of art, including works by the most prominent artists of all time.

In addition to permanent and temporary exhibitions, the National Gallery also has a collection of contemporary and Native American art. The museum's designers, Pentagram, used the Frere-Jones typeface to emphasize the word "National" and to resemble the font used to engrave donor names on the marble walls. AEA Consulting, a consulting company that assists museums with strategic planning, helped the museum collect input from more than one hundred employees.
